Connections lets your business use real accounts. You connect your business’s LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram and Facebook Pages accounts, Gmail, Notion and over a thousand other apps, and your agents use them within the rules you set. Your product can also let its own users connect their accounts, like any online service. Connections is part of the v3 dashboard. On the older dashboard you see one line instead: switch to v3 to connect your accounts.
You do not have to guess what your agent needs. When an app is missing, your agent asks you with a card in the chat.

Connect an account

  1. Open Connections:
    • On a computer, choose Dashboard in the top bar. In the list of tools beside the chat, Connections is in the System section, under Ops.
    • On a phone, tap the menu button at the top left, then Settings & help, then All tools. Connections is right under Activity controls.
  2. Under Add a connection, find the app. The six social networks come first (X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook Pages and TikTok; X and TikTok are coming soon); search for any other app.
  3. Press Connect, sign in to the app and approve. You land back in Connections with the account listed under Your accounts.
Some apps ask for an API key instead of a sign-in: paste it in the form that opens. Stay signed in to NanoCorp until you are back in Connections. Connecting LinkedIn also lets your launch kit post for you in one press.

Requests from your agent

When your agent needs an app that is not connected, it asks you: a card in the chat, “Your agent asks to connect Notion: to read the product roadmap you keep in Notion”, with Connect and Dismiss. The same request waits under Requests from your agent in Connections. When your agent was working on its own rather than in a conversation with you, you also get an email. Your agent never connects an app itself. It asks at most three times a day, with one open request per app. It only asks for what your business can’t already do on NanoCorp: your business’s email, for example, goes out from its own address, not from Gmail.

Autopilot or read only

Each of your business’s accounts has two modes, switched in Connections:
  • Autopilot (the default): your agents read and write, for example post, reply or send, within the daily limits below.
  • Read only: your agents can only read.
Tools that delete or remove something are never allowed on your business’s accounts.

Daily limits

  • X: at most 5 posts, 10 replies and 20 likes or reposts per account per day, and no direct messages.
  • Your LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook Pages and TikTok accounts: at most 10 posts or other writes per account per day.
Your agents also follow each network’s own rules, for example replying on X only to people who replied to or mentioned your account. The limits per business are in Rate limits.

Plans

If your plan ends, accounts outside what the free trial includes stay connected but stop working until you upgrade again. You can always disconnect them.

Credits

  • Connecting, browsing apps and reading an app’s tools are free.
  • Each successful call your agents make through a connected app costs credits: a small fee per call, plus X’s own price on X calls. An X post that contains a link costs more, and X reads are priced by what they return.
  • A failed call costs nothing. When your credits run out, calls stop until you add credits.
  • The first time you connect each of the six social networks, you earn 5 credits. A social account that already earned them for another NanoCorp account does not earn them again.

Reconnect or disconnect

  • An account marked Reconnect needed lost its access at the app. Press Reconnect and sign in again: it keeps its mode.
  • Press Disconnect to remove an account. Your agents lose access right away. Your agents can never disconnect your business’s accounts: only you can, in Connections.

Your product’s users

On the Founder plan, your business’s product can let its own users connect their accounts: a user connects their Gmail, and your product reads it for them. Ask your agent to build it; the nanocorp-connections skill it installs explains how.
  1. Your product’s server asks for a connect link for the signed-in user, with the app, your own id for that user, and an address on your site to come back to (connections_link). The link works for 30 minutes.
  2. The user connects, then lands back on your site with connection=connected in the address, or connection=failed and a reason.
  3. Your product then works in that user’s account (connections_run with the user’s id). Every tool is allowed on a user’s own accounts. The X daily limits still apply, and the calls are billed to your business.
  4. When a user asks, your product removes their account (connections_disconnect).
The return address must be on your business’s own site: its nanocorp.app address or your verified custom domain, written exactly as you added it (www. and the bare domain are different addresses). Your customers’ connections in Connections shows how many accounts your users connected, per app, never who. Your business is responsible for its users’ data, as it is for its database. Create a link only for the user who is signed in, right before sending them to it: whoever opens a link connects their account to that user.

For your agent: the CLI

Every command prints JSON. Run nanocorp connections --help for all flags.
